Don't Miss This

Noah was commanded to build the ark 120 years before he needed it. In that time, people had the chance to ask Noah what he was doing and why. The ark was giant and could have fit people in it. IF they had decided to make the decision to follow God and His ways, there was a place for them.

Noah was asked to build the ark before any of his sons were even born but was told to make place for them. Noah had so many reasons to resist this commandment (that of building the ark). He didn't know how. There was no water nearby. He had plenty of time and couldn't see the need himself. He had no evidence that a flood would really come. He didn't even have children.

What he had was faith and obedience. He was obedient without knowing why. He was obedient without knowing how, being very aware of his own insufficiencies. That paid off for him in a very big way.

Do we sometimes face this in our own lives? Are we commanded do something without knowing how we will do it and also not being sure of the why--or if it will even happen?

In my life, I think of when we moved. That was hard and we didn't realize the blessings until a couple years afterward. I think of being a mother. Cutlture told me to achieve in the workforce would bring the greatest sense of purpose and accomplishment, but prophets told me it would be with my own little ones. Nothing could fill me like they have! I think of the prompting to write to my brother, listen to his concerns, and get a chance to speak my truth in response. He has not, as of yet, returned to faith, but my faith was strengthened and a fire lit to help those around me.

Here's to obedience. Here's to faith. Here's to Noah!
