Each name in the Old Testament has a Hebrew meaning. The meaning of the name is the message of the story.
Noah means "rest." The Bible says that the people in the time of Noah were wicked. The earth needed rest from that.
Living in wickedness does put you in turmoil. Choosing God's way, brings peace. It brings rest. I think of my story of telling the truth of my failing grade in government in front of the class. Turmoil before--great peace after.
