Bonnie Cordon, "Come to Christ and Don't Come Alone."
She begins by saying this:
"Have you ever had that searching feeling, wondering if Heavenly Father knows who you are and if He needs you? My dear youth, and to all, I testify the answer is yes! The Lord has a plan for you. He has prepared you for this day, right now, to be a strength and force for good in His mighty work. We need you! It simply will not be as grand without you!"
This reminded me of another story that pierced my heart lately. It was the story of David Patten who told Joseph Smith that he wanted to be a martyr. "David W. Patten died exactly the way he wanted to. He had once remarked to the Prophet that he had a great desire to die the death of a martyr. Joseph was sorry when he heard this, and he told David that, “when a man of your faith asks the Lord for anything, he generally gets it.”
I don't want to die the death of a martyr but I do want to do good in the world and help people with their faith in Christ and in this church. When I heard that line, "when a man of your faith asks the Lord for anything, he generally gets it," I felt that God was telling me that if I wanted it, I should move forward and God would magnify my efforts into that beautiful thing.
Back to the conference talk which Bonnie Cordon ends with this quote from President Nelson, "Yes, you are here for something grand. I join with President Nelson, who said: “The Lord needs you to change the world. As you accept and follow His will for you, you will find yourself accomplishing the impossible!”
It makes me want to weep. As I wonder if it is possible, God is telling me not only that it is but that He wants it for me.
