Thinking

My friend, Robin, says that one of her daughters has a real hard time making decisions and will often come to her asking Robin to make the decision for her.   Robin refuses.  Usually the decision is, "I've been invited to two places, which should I go to?"  Robin says, "No matter what you decide, you will have to miss one and you'll be mad.  I'm not going to have you mad at me."  Plus, she goes on to explain that kids need to learn to make their own decsions.

So the other night my daughters both had a concert on the same night in different places.  I made my choice and it turned out badly!  I thought, "Next time I'm going to pray about this."  A good sentiment, I thought, until uncoincidentally, my friend's conversation echoed in my mind.  "No matter what you decide, you will have to miss one and you'll be mad. I'm not going to have you mad at me."

I suppose that God, too, wants his children to learn to make their own decisions.
