We had a lesson on raising children on Sunday. Here were some of my impressions:
1. The teacher spoke of making a plan for how to raise your children. I feel like Kevin and I already have that plan understood between the two of us. However, it struck me that if we made a list of things we wanted to teach, we could slot them into a FHE master schedule and make sure they get taught.
2. My children might not know that I study my scriptures regularly. I should speak of it. This lets them know that I study the gospel, and also will give me chances to show how the gospel is applied to life!
3. One thing I wanted to share is the importance of encouraging our children to pray about their problems. When they come to us with a problem, they have come to US so we try to help them with our own wisdom. We must remember, though, that their best answers will come from God and they don't always think to go to Him. It is a chance to direct them to Him and to bear testimony of his ability to help in our lives.
