Stake RS Meeting

Be other-centered.  What does it mean to be other-centered?  Think of it as whether you have a mirror in front of you (how do I look?  am I being funny?  am I interesting?  what do they think of me?) or instead, have a window in front of you (how are they feeling today?  what would help this person feel better about themself?  what is she/he thinking?  what is she/he worried about?).

It's a good way of describing the paradigm shift that I have felt in my own life -- when I do remember to put away worries about myself and think of the people around me and what I can do for them.  It suddenly changes me from feeling powerless and small and vulnerable to feeling capable and useful -- and happy to be there.  It is an amazing trick that is simple to do but incredibly effective!  It should be taught more, or maybe it is and I just need to remember to implement it more!
