Temple Night
Isn't it interesting how when Satan first tells Adam to eat the fruit, Adam is so valiant, so sure of himself, "I will not partake." You want to stand up and cheer! But does Satan slink away and say, "Oh, this one's too strong for me. I guess I'll leave him alone for now on."? No! He just smirks and says, "Well . . . we will see." And does he ever! He tries a different tack and before you've had a chance to dose off for a second time, he's eating that fruit. There is an important lesson here about the nature of Satan and thus, the nature of our test here in Earth life. Just because you win once, does not mean the test is over. You can not let your guard down. You can not feel so satisfied with your response that you decide you are no longer in danger of that particular temptation. Satan's waiting for that other approach, that moment of weakness, that rationalization that you believe . . . and he is good at waiting, "Well . . . we will see."
