Number 225: RS pondering
In Relief Society, Mandy asked if any of us could share some way that God had opened up a way and helped us to be obedient. My mind went blank. Although, in my defense, i was sure that He had . . . i just couldn't think of anything at that moment. I kept pondering on it though and i remembered how Jim and Naoma, Kevin's mom and step-dad had moved here to Springville right around the time that Kevin became bishop. When that all unfolded, i had the distinct impression that their moving here was a blessing specifically for me. "This is for you," the spirit whispered. That was an interesting impression because they, of course, had their own reasons for moving, and their being here would bless the lives of my children and my husband, who was the actual son, afterall. But no, the spirit said it was for me. Their moving here did bless my life and continues to bless my life! They helped so much when Kevin was bishop and then when the twins were born. They take the little ones once a week which makes running errands just blissful rather than the chore they would otherwise be. They take children places when Kevin and I are taking care of other responsibilities. Not to mention, just the emotional richness of having family to have us over for dinner and birthdays and to share holidays with! I am so thankful for the love of my Father in Heaven, who not only assured me of His presence and love by whispering to me of this gift, but also provided me with a way to accomplish what i wish in this life -- mainly, . . . to have a bunch of kids. Thank you, Heavenly Father. You are the best.
