Day 13: Relief Society Mid-week

Here's what we learned: 1) You're not from around here 2) Notice the obvious things 3) Thank your lucky stars 4) Use your mirror the right way 5) Be Somebody Useful 6) You don't get everything you want 7) You're not alone.

The song I liked best was from #6. It went like this, "Most of us are parched and dry, standing in a river up to our knees, dying of thirst." To me it said, "You're in charge of your own life. You can make it however you want it. All the raw materials are there. So don't complain about being thirsty, reach down and get a drink!" I love this principle -- that you can make your life whatever you want. It seems so obvious, and yet how many people don't get it? How many people complain, "I wish I knew how to play the piano," compared to how many people go out and learn to play the piano? How many people say, "I hate my life!" compared to the people who say, "What would I like my life to be like and what do I need to do to get it that way?"
