Day 12: Reading

I was listening to the book, The Sparrow, today. In it they talk of God and express the desire that God will accept their work as the prayer it was always meant to be. I was struck by that. Work can be a prayer. All work can be dedicated to the Lord and in so doing can strengthen the soul and bring us closer to Him. I think I will think about this more, especially as I perform work that I don't like. If I come to understand it better, it would even be a good concept to teach to my children as they certainly don't find much of any work enjoyable -- but if it were a prayer -- if it were a gift to the Lord -- if it were dedicated to Him -- it would be entirely different.
