Here was a great post on teaching the gospel to young people:
The elements that stuck out to me were:
Get to know the kids and let them talk about their lives.
"If I've spent more than 30% of the time talking, the lesson was unsuccessful." Try to get the youth to have discussions.
"We need to get past thinking of food as something for bribing kindergarteners and remember that it is something adults do for each other to show that they care." -- Love this. I can give food out of love and not feel like I'm bribing or treating them like babies.
Give kids things they haven't heard before -- stories from your life, examples from fresh sources -- always using them to show how what they are learning applies to their own lives.
