Number 219: Church

Sarah played piano for the opening song today in Relief Society: "I Am a Child of God." It was the week that the YW come in for opening exercises with the RS and it was the YW's turn to conduct. Sarah has been the YW pianist for a little over a month and it still scares her spitless. I love hearing her play. It makes me feel so happy and tender toward her that she stuck with this hard thing for years and now SHE CAN DO IT!! And she does do it even though it scares her. If bravery is doing things even though you are scared to do them, then she is one ofthe bravest people I know.

So, I was listening to her play, and singing the hymn, when she lost her place. I immediately started to pray for her, searching for God to hear me, when I received this impression, "Don't worry. I am with her. She is my child too." It was soooo sweet. I couldn't sing anymore. what a wonderful witness that God hears my prayers and is with my children. Thank you, Father. We truly are children of God.
