The purpose of Duty to God, Personal Progress, and even Activity Days is not to get the award but for the child to put down spiritual roots.
When you grow corn, you prepare the soil, plant the seed and add water, but after about 6 inches of growth you need to stop watering. Then the corn will send roots down deep, searching for its own water. Once these roots have been established you can water as much as you want and your lush plants will flourish even when there are wind storms that knock down other plants.
Just like corn, we need to stop watering for a while when our children are youth and let our children search for their own water and put down roots. Then they will stand strong when their own storms in life hit!
