I was painting today and imagining a conversation between a husband and wife, the future owners of our home.
H: Why would the last owner paint just the outside of the cabinets?
W: Because she was busy, Dear, and she didn't have time to empty all the drawers.
H: But if you're going to do something, you should take the time to do it right!
W: Sometimes, a little is better than nothing, and the little is all that we can give!
I love how I made the future wife totally understanding. Wouldn't the world be a better, happier place if we all tried to put ourselves in other's shoes and truly understand them?
We talk about giving service to our neighbors in terms of making dinner and cleaning houses, but a service perhaps even more valuable is to give our neighbors a break from judgement, try to put ourselves in their shoes, and give of our understanding. It's what we all crave, really.

I agree so heartily! I can get this sometimes, and then I'll trip up and find myself taking a situation at face value (the first face value that I see) instead of truly considering, and being considerate. Just found your blog. Love it!
