I found this today from 2Chronicles, 25:
18 And Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.
19 Thou sayest, Lo, thou hast smitten the Edomites; and thine heart lifteth thee up to boast: abide now at home; why shouldest thou meddle to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
This was said after the king of Judah, Amaziah, had just won a major battle because the Lord said He would deliver Judah and He did. Afterward, though, Amaziah felt it had been his own victory and decided to take on Israel as well. Joash is telling Amaziah that he is just a bunch of thistle taking credit for the destruction caused by the bear. It's a great illustration of the necessity for humility. Oh, and Amaziah did attack and he and his people were killed.
