2 Chr. 33
Manasseh is wicked. REALLLY evil (see v.6). But when he repents and turns back to God, he receives God's help. (v. 12-13) God truly is merciful.
2 Chr. 34
Josiah starts to pray at 16. Then destroys all the idol worship in Judah. Sixteen!
Josiah finds a book wherein is written the law of Moses. He checks with a prophetess to make sure it is the word of God. Then he reestablishes the law among the people. It's amazing the power of the written word.
Alma 1:24
". . .And also many withdrew themselves from among them." This sounds as though they were righteous but they were bugged by the unrighteousness of other members. Interesting. Many do that today but it only leads to them losing their place in the church.
Alma 1:33
". . . they became more still . . ." What does that mean exactly? It seems to mean that they were more obedient to the laws because they knew the consequences and the consequences were enforced. This is a good lesson for raising children!
D&C 76:53 " . . . who overcome by faith . . ." There is the real battle and power. (See yesterday's post!)
