Oct 2020--By Union of Feeling--Sharon Eubank
"We often think of substance in terms of food or money, but perhaps what we all need more of in our ministering is mercy."
I love this because it connects to a thought I had on Sunday. In my Come Follow Me broadcast, the point was made that while Charity is the Pure Love of Christ, when we talk of charity in church we talk of times people served us or we served them, instead of about the love of Christ--we try to emulate that love through service (and ministering), but charity should come back to the love we feel from Christ. I was asked in a different meeting to talk of an experience I had with charity in my life, and remembering this point, I shared a time when I felt an overpowering feeling of love from God--and it came at a time when I was feeling bad about myself, when I felt unworthy of His love. So...if we are to imitate that kind of love, then we serve best when we love people even when they don't deserve it. I think this is exactly what Sister Eubank is saying.
