Visiting Teaching

Ivory, who I visit teach, said that she thinks those who suffer for their misdeeds in this world, will suffer because they will be able to see how all their acts hurt others and how that act snowballed -- causing the hurt person to hurt another person and so on.  Then the guilt and regret will be their suffering. (I think this is true.  I think it is actually what we crave when we want someone to "pay" for what they have done to us.  We just want them to understand.  Really, really understand -- because then we know they'll feel bad.)

But then Ivory flipped it around and said that she also thinks this is why those who have done good will feel so much joy in heaven.  They in turn, will be able to see how their good acts helped others and how this one helped person could then help another and on and on.

What a wonderful thought!  And how important to not only avoid hurting others, but also to conciously do good and help others.
