Helaman 12:6 Behold, they do not desire that the Lord their God, who hath created them, should rule and reign over them; notwithstanding his great goodness and his mercy towards them, they do set at naught his counsels, and they will not that he should be their guide.
How true and how sad and how true and sad that I have been doing this in my life. I am enjoying the bountiful blessings of the Lord in a large and healthy and happy family in a safe neighborhood with good friends and neighbors and peace and contentment through the assurances of the gospel and a sweet relationship with my Savior. Yet, still, I do not want to do scripture study. I resist the counsel to spend time every day (up to a whole hour!) in the scriptures. This is very ungrateful of me AND shows a lack of faith in the promises of the Lord. I will try to do better.
