I have been thinking about service and what my Activity Day girls could do for more service. I was thinking that sometimes the activities we choose are big and/or for people we don't know. I was also thinking it might be more meaningful if that wasn't the case!
Then in sunday school we were discussing the parable of the talents. Our teacher pointed out that the purpose of the talents was to use them -- to use them in service. This really rang true to me! The purpose of our talents is to serve. The secret to what to do to serve is to first identify your talents. A great way to help kids be able to serve throughout their lives is to teach them skills they can later use to serve others! Voila!
