Sin is like a dirty diaper. If you clean it up right away, it comes off easily and there's no lasting damage. If you leave it for awhile, then the poop gets stuck on the skin and it takes a lot of work to scrub it off. When you're done, the skin could even have a nasty rash or be damaged. It takes longer to heal.
So, if you mess up, deal with it right away. Remember those nasty diapers just get worse the longer you wait!
