John 5:14 "Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee."
He was sick for THIRTY EIGHT years!! It is as I always say about the scriptures, the temporal is a parallel for the spiritual -- the physical healings are a parallel (something easier for us to see) of the spiritual healings. We tend to disregard the state of our spirit because we cannot see it, but if our suffering for sin will be worse than an infirmary that laid this man out for decades, we must take it seriously indeed.
