Day 74: H. Wallace Goddard

"Life can be legitimately seen as a painful tragedy or a purposeful triumph. Each of us must choose. I choose to see God at work blessing His children in wise and loving ways. The very fact that God has created a world in which everything can be seen in gloomy or glorious ways seems to be evidence that He honors our agency."

This is an important point for those who are at odds with the gospel. The way one person sees a thing is not the only way to see it. Who is to say that you are seeing it right? Don't be so self-righteous as to think you know better than everyone else who has ever had a thought on the subject! God wants there to be multiple possibilities in interpretation. It proves whether we will have the humility to ask God for his reasons, wait for explanations, exlore for understanding. It helps us grow. It is part of the plan.
