Day 71: Sunday School

Luke 7: 36-50

When Christ says that those who sin most will love Him most, you can see immediately that it is true. But . . . it is also not good to sin. As I pondered on it, I realized that only someone who has sinned much AND repented of it AND believed that God was successful in wiping their sins away, would feel that powerful love. As He says in a later verse, "thy faith hath saved thee." It is not necessarily the sins which made her love for the savior so strong, it was her understanding of her need for saving and her complete understanding that Christ had the power to do so and indeed had. I do not need to sin much for this kind of understanding. I need Christ just as much as the greatest sinner. For this, I do love Him.
