Day 29: Pondering

When I read of Solomon, I wondered what I could ask of God. Solomon's request defined his life and made him a wonderful king who did much good for his people. I also thought about the quote I blogged about the other day by Elder Scott -- the idea that you must ask to learn things from God because He won't take away your agency by teaching you without His permission.

I noticed the other day that I have been able to recognize my own pride in a couple instances very clearly that I hadn't noticed before. I thought of how in stake conference, President Harker had said that you don't learn about evil from experiencing evil. You learn about light by being close to the light and you also learn about evil from being close to light. Now I have experienced that! As I have tried to have spiritual thoughts everyday, I am able to see more clearly when my thoughts are not in line with the Lord's ways! Eureka! It is exactly what President Harker was teaching.

Back to paragraph one, I will benefit from asking the Lord to help me recognize my pride and recognize when my thoughts are not in line with the Lord.
