The fireside speaker said that in the gospel there are some "absolutes." He's not sure how many, but one of the absolutes he is sure of is self-improvement. The Lord expects us to be continually improving ourselves. We should be better this year than last year. It is an eternal principle -- "exaltations upon exaltations."
This is one of the best statements I've heard in support of gospel study. Surely, in all things, our understanding of the gospel is the area where we most need to continutally improve.
