D&C 46:8-33
How does God decide which gift to give to me? I think He waits for me to decide how I can benefit the church. Then I ask for that spiritual gift so that I can help others and then the spiritual gift is granted to me. I must do the soul searching. I must first think of how I can help others.
D&C 46:7 "doing all things with prayer and thanksgiving, that ye may not be seduced by evil spirits," Isn't this an interesting phrase? Being thankful can keep us from being deceived by evil spirits. That's true! When I am thankful, I can't get caught on the slippery slope of doom and gloom. I can't justify anger or pessimism or despair. Very cool.
